Detroit Kickoff Classic Skills Competition
About This Competition
Are you the fastest skater in the State? One hour on the ice to find out. Four measured events: forward sprint, backward sprint, agility and edges with the puck, and hardest shot. Timing is measured with a professional grade laser measurement system. Shot speed is tracked with Radar. We crown a State Champion in each birth year, boys and girls, for every event plus an overall title. All ages welcome. Event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 on August 22nd 2026. Your player will be assigned a 1 hour time slot

Before you go
- Your window
- The competition runs 10:00am–1:00pm. Your athlete is assigned a 1-hour window, sent one week before the event — attendance is only required for that hour.
- Equipment
- All players wear full equipment and bring a hockey stick.
- Spots
- Limited to the first 125 athletes.
