Virtual vs Reality.
Virtual vs Reality.
Each year hockey gains in popularity, but that has not been reflective of the numbers registered in hockey programs across the country. Over the past few years, the sport has lost many great players and families to a multitude of different situations. While the world was shut down, E-Gaming amongst kids exploded to heights never seen before. At times, one of the most popular games in the world had 100 million players participating on a daily basis.
Rising costs across the world have seeped their way into one of the most expensive sports. Sticks are approaching $400, Fees for traditional travel clubs are approaching $7,000, and if you are privileged enough to play AAA, fees are double, and in some cases, triple that. Trickle down effects are also raising prices. Clubs now feel the need to have custom gloves and shells, mandatory swag packages, coaches forcing kids to buy suits that they will grow out of in 6 months. While purchases of the NHL franchise on Xbox and Playstation rise, our numbers in reality fall. It is much easier for a parent to swallow the $60-$100 bill for a video game as opposed to thousands of dollars to provide their child with a hockey experience.
We at Elite Amateur Sports have done our very best to try and keep our prices affordable so players can experience the best part of hockey, the away tournament. We feature some of the most reasonably priced hotels, as well as entry fees seen across the country. We also pride ourselves in outstanding locations such as Kalamazoo and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. So, when trying to find ways to keep costs reasonable, turn to EAS for your boys and girls youth hockey tournament needs.
