G.O.A.T.S

We all know who the G.O.A.T.s are, and we are not talking about the cute farm animals. GOAT stands for Greatest of All Time. Obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion on who their GOAT is. Many will turn to “The Great One” in Wayne Gretzky. More seasoned hockey fans may take it back to Maurice “The Rocket” Richard. Here in Michigan, we have “Mr. Hockey” Gordie Howe and Stevie Y. It is tough to compare them all because the different era’s needed different skill sets. The new wave of hockey is much the same to baseball and being the 5-tool athlete.

When you look at Connor McDavid, Gabriel Landeskog, Patrick Kane, and Auston Matthews; similar to the listed names above, they are all very different players, but all have the same tools. Speed, Strength, Agility, Scoring, and Metal Acuity. The crazy thing is, they all took vastly different paths to get to where they are today. McDavid from the hockey hotbed of Toronto, Landeskog rising the ranks in European youth to play Major Junior in Canada, and even Matthews tearing up the desert of Arizona, sporting the red, white, and blue here in Plymouth, to go over to Europe to play professionally instead of the typical Juniors route. They do all have one thing in common though, they all played in a ton of Boys Hockey Tournaments.

No matter what your personal path is, we here at Elite Amateur Sports would love to host you! We are not exclusive to just boy’s hockey, as we offer an array of Girls Hockey Tournaments as well. We welcome players of all genders and ages to compete in some of the coolest towns beautiful Michigan has to offer. Be sure to check out our tournaments on our new and improved website, as well as follow us on Facebook for any new information, as well as some great hockey articles from around the state and the country.
