Eat Good, Play Good

Fueling your body with the right nutrients is critical to ensuring optimal performance on the ice. The incredible demands of ice hockey, which include high-speed skating, brutal agility, and collisions with other players, require a great deal of energy. To meet these demands, players need to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats.

Ice hockey players should aim to consume a mix of animal and plant-based protein sources, such as lean meats, fish, nuts, and legumes. Protein is essential in creating and maintaining the gains seen while working out or

Healthy fats are another important component of an athlete's diet, as they provide energy and support brain function. Good sources of healthy fats include avocado, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish.

In addition to these macronutrients, ice hockey players should also make sure to consume plenty of vitamins and minerals to support their overall health and wellbeing. This can be achieved through a balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables, or adding an appropriate supplement to your current diet using approved supplements from a dietician or doctor.

Proper hydration is also crucial for athletes, as it helps to regulate body temperature, transport nutrients, and prevent dehydration. Ice hockey players should aim to drink water before, during, and after games and practices to stay hydrated.
