It’s Hockey Tournament Season
One of the coolest parts of the coldest game on earth is attending the hockey tournaments. The camaraderie of traveling together, the compare and contrast to other tournaments, rinks, hotels. And the memories made and shared. With the holidays in the rear-view mirror, we are entering tournament season in full swing. Many will travel over national holidays such as MLK weekend, President’s weekend and then participate in their league and state playoffs. It is an intense time for coaches, players, and parents as there will only be one victor. Try to remember to relax, enjoy the experiences, and trust the process. The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat, we all experience it during our journeys, but it’s how you react to the situations that present during these moments. Don’t lose your cool with the ref’s (or the coaches for that matter). Don’t criticize your player or his teammates. Instead, keep communications open with everyone and find the positives, they will be there and then that will become the memories that will far outweigh any loss that may occur.
