Detroit Olympia March 20, ‘76

Also known as Olympia Stadium, October 1927- Dec 1979.  I was fortunate enough to watch many Red Wings games and even played a game at the old red barn at 9-years-old.  This game was special to me watching Bobby Clark, Bernie Parant, Dave Schultz, Reggie Leach and the rest of the Broad Street Bullies!  March 20th, 1976 the Red Wings won 4-2 with Jimmy Rutherford taking the win.  The Red Wings went 26-44-10 that year, and Steve Yzerman was a peewee about to play the Quebec International Peewee tourney having no clue he would be the one to bring the Red Wings back with Stanley.   My love for the Red Wings started at their very worst of times.  Watching Stevie lift the cup for the first time made the deadwing days a much better memory.
